Taxes in HESCO Electricity Bills

General Sales Tax (GST)

General Sales Tax (GST) is levied on the electricity bills of all WAPDA companies in Pakistan. This tax is levied at the rate of 17 percent.

  • They are not charged: Customers consuming less than 50 units per month can avoid this tax.

  • Impact: The electricity bill increases from the normal amount.

Electricity Duty (ED)

Electricity Duty is a provincial tax imposed under the Electricity Duty Act.

Income Tax / Withholding Tax

TV License Fee
